DESCRIPTION:Mycology legend and founding member Paul Kroeger will be presenting: \nMushroom Misadventures: How people get into trouble eating mushrooms\, tales from poison control. Tuesday\, April 8th @ Floral Hall (5251 Oak st.) 7pm \nThis is a rundown on notable mushroom exposures from the past couple of years and will help to illustrate common mistakes that lead to illness from eating wild\, and occasionally cultivated\, mushrooms. \nPaul Kroeger has studied mushrooms for over thirty-five years and is a founding member of the Vancouver Mycological Society. He has been involved in many projects and studies about diverse aspects of mushrooms\, gaining knowledge about fungal ecology\, biochemistry of toxic\, hallucinogenic\, medicinal\, and edible mushrooms. Years of experience have created unique insights and understanding of fungal life-ways and interactions in temperate ecosystems. \nDoors at 7\, Talk at 7:35 \nAs always\, we would love to see your specimens at our monthly mushroom table for identification and admiration. (No online option is available) \nEach year\, the VMS holds an AGM to conduct essential club business\, including: \n    Election of Officers (President\, Vice President\, Treasurer\, and Secretary) \n    Election of Directors (members of the Board) \n    Review and approval of the financial report \nThis meeting is required to maintain our status with the BC Societies Registry. Due to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic\, the current Officers and Board—after consultation—have approved a streamlined process to ensure we meet our obligations for 2024/25.\n?
